How breeding resolves

Each pairing is an independent roll. There is no pity counter, no accumulating progress, and no incubation timer — the only clock is the weather or day/night window a recipe demands. A 32% recipe averages about three attempts; a 5% recipe averages about twenty. Plan resources around the average, not the best case.

Conditions are checked when you submit the pairing. Weather (Rain, Snow, Thunderstorm, Blizzard), time of day (Night, Dawn), and facility requirements (Mythical Breeding Pen, Legendary+ Breeding Station, Event Charm) all gate specific recipes.

The full recipe list

Read the tree backwards

Four pets are both offspring and parents: Red Panda, Kitsune, Hydra and Cosmic Griffin. That chaining is what makes the endgame expensive. Celestial Hydra at 5% needs a Hydra (8%) and a Cosmic Griffin (6%), and the Cosmic Griffin itself needs a Christmas Dragon, which is event-limited.

So plan from the target down, not from your inventory up. Pick what you want, list its parents, then list their parents, and only then decide which catches this week's routes need to produce.

The two recipes that actually pay

Pegasus + Yeti → Red Panda at 14% is the best value pairing in the game: two Legendaries you can farm on Blizzard and Dawn windows convert into a $29/sec Mythical. Both parents are worth owning anyway.

Moon Cat + Yeti → Kitsune at 12% is the second. Moon Cat is the easiest Legendary to catch if you play at night, and Kitsune is otherwise gated behind an overlapping Night-and-Rain window that may not occur when you are online.

Between them, these two recipes give you a Mythical pen without ever landing a Mythical spawn by hand.

Batching attempts inside a window

Because rates are low, the practical constraint is how many attempts you can submit inside one weather window. Stock parents in advance, fire the totem only when the pen is loaded, and submit repeatedly rather than running a capture route at the same time.

Mixing capture and breeding in a single window is the most common way players waste a totem. Do one or the other.

Questions about this guide

+What is the rarest pet in Catch And Tame?

Celestial Hydra, at a 5% success rate from Hydra + Cosmic Griffin, requiring Thunderstorm and the Legendary+ Breeding Station. Both parents must themselves be bred first.

+How do I get a Mythical pet without catching one?

Breed Pegasus + Yeti for Red Panda at 14% (Snow + Night), or Moon Cat + Yeti for Kitsune at 12% (Night + Blizzard). Both use farmable Legendary parents.

+Are there breeding timers in Catch And Tame?

No incubation timers are documented. The limits are weather windows, the day/night cycle, and facility requirements.
